PURE STOCK RULES

  1.  Unless it came on a stock, mass produced vehicle, it is NOT LEGAL UNLESS STATED BELOW!!!!
  2.  If it came on a stock, mass produced vehicle and it is prohibited here, it is NOT LEGAL!!!!. There is ABSOLUTELY NO GREY AREA. Technical inspector’s decision is final!! 

 Eligible Makes/Models:

  1.  Any Chrysler, Ford or GM model car that was / is mass-produced for U.S. Market.
  2.  If you have a question on whether or not a car is legal to run in the PURE STREET class, call the track and ask.
  3. Rear wheel drive cars only.
  4. No FWD cars or trucks allowed.

 Radiator:

  1. One, mounted in front of the engine for the purpose of cooling water, optionally, to cool an automatic transmission. May be aluminum.

 Engine:

  1.  Location:  Stock location for Make / Model / Year. 
  2. Make:  Corporate engine must match the corporate frame, any year OK. 
    1. Example: You cannot run a Ford motor in a GM frame. 
  3. Lift:  Must not exceed .450 lift as measured at the top of the valve 
  4. Block:  Stock based, steel, small block not to exceed 362 ci. Must be stock bore (+.060 OK) and NO strokers / hybrids (no 383ci Chevy’s, NO 347 Fords, etc.) All engine casting numbers stamped on engine must be unaltered. When in doubt if a motor is legal, call track! 
    1. Cam: Chain driven. 
    2. Lifters: Solid or hydraulic. No Rollers or mushrooms. No ceramic. 
    3. Pistons: Dished or Flat. NO domes. 
    4. Rods: OEM length. Example: SBC must be 5.7 inch I-beam rods. NO 6 inch rods. NO H-rods. 
    5. Heads: OEM iron heads. OEM style stamped steel rockers. NO roller rockers. NO roller tipped rockers. NO porting or polishing. Stock pushrods. Stock press in studs.  
    6. Springs. Valve spring size not to exceed 1.250. No beehive springs allowed. THIS WILL BE CHECKED! 
    7. Valves: maximum of 2 valves per cylinder. Max intake is 1.94. Max exhaust is 1.50. 
    8. Carburetor: One carb. 500 cfm two barrel Holley 4412 with stock, unaltered, throttle arm and butterflies. Choke plate may be removed. Choke housing must remain in place. Power valve may be removed/blocked off. The accelerator pump squirter may not extend into the area directly above the venturi (tech purposes). Recommend epoxying the boosters for safety. If you have a question about whether or not a carburetor is legal or not, please call the track. 
    9. Carburetor Claim: Any car owner that has a car competing in the FEATURE EVENT may claim the carburetor of a car that finishes ahead of the claimers car in the Feature Event. The cost is $150 to claim and a swap of the claimers carburetor. 2 claims a year maximum. (Tech Inspector will have final say so if carburetor is in shape to swap) 

 Intake Manifold:

  1.  Cast iron intake from production vehicle only. Must have come on a stock, production type vehicle. Car, truck, bus or van.  No marine or generator intakes allowed. Original production casting number must be in place and visible for the tech man to read. If your  intake is deemed illegal, you must be able to provide documentation that shows that it came on a car, truck, van or bus. No boat, ship, generator, plane, jet ski, or air conditioner intakes allowed.
  2.  No aftermarket intakes.

 Carburetor Adapter / Spacer:

  1.  No more than one (1) inch adapter and no more that one (1) spacer a combined total of one (1) inch thick.
  2.  May be aluminum or plastic.

 Air Filter Housing:

  1.  No vacuum lines allowed between the air cleaner and the carburetor.
  2.  Only one, round, mass produced air cleaner can be used.
  3.  Maximum size of the element will be 14in in diameter by 4 inches tall.
  4.  Air cleaner top and bottom must be made of solid metal. NO PLASTIC HATS!!!

 Ignition:

  1.  STOCK IGNITION ONLY. NO AFTERMARKET, DUI OR ACCELL SUPECOIL HEI DISTRIBUTORS.
  2.  No crank / triggered ignition. No ignition boxes. No MSD modules, no Dynamods.

 Alternator:

  1.  If used, must be 12 volt and of OEM design.

 Harmonic Balancer:

  1.  Aftermarket to include fluid damper OK.

 Number ONE plug:

  1.  Must be at stock location for make and model.

 Starter:

  1. Aftermarket starter OK. Must bolt up in factory location.

 Water Pump:

  1.  Aftermarket OK.

 Power Steering pump:

  1.  Aftermarket allowed.

 Accessories:

  1.  Other items must be OEM style but may be after market items.

 Materials:

  1.  No ceramic or carbon fiber parts allowed. PERIOD!!

 Prohibited Items:

  1.  Any titanium or other similar sophisticated lightweight parts.
  2.  Mounting the engine so that the centerline of the crankshaft is more than 1in from the center point between the 2 top ball joints.

 Fuel:

  1.  Pump fuel only!!! NO aftermarket additives.
  2.  No cool cans.
  3.  See the safety rules on the required fuel cells.

 Fuel Cell:

  1.  Racing Fuel Cell required.  Must be in steel container.

 Exhaust:

  1.  Must exit approximately parallel to the ground and not be aimed in the direction of the cockpit. Any cast iron manifold.
  2.  Headers OK with 1 5/8 in primaries and 3in collector.
  3.  NO over the frame or crossover headers.
  4.  Each side must include 36in of 2in SOLID pipe. No holes allowed from exit of heads to exit of 2” pipe.

 Flyweel/Flexplate:

  1.  OEM steel only.  OEM dimensions.

 Clutch/Transmission:

  1.  Single disc clutch only (10 ½ in. minimum).
  2.  No aluminum flywheel.
  3.  Stock type flywheel to weigh no less than 14lbs, stock type pressure plate no less that 13 lbs., stock disc type clutch and flywheel required.
  4.  Stock torque converter required with automatic transmission.
  5.  Transmission may have shift kit installed, 1/4in steel plate surrounding stock bell housing or blow proof housing required.
  6.  No racing clutches or light weight flywheels, or small torque convertorers, or racing torque converters allowed.
  7.  Functioning torque converters must weigh 38lbs minimum.

 Drive Shaft:

  1.  OEM steel.
  2.  Universal joints are to be similar in design to OEM units.
  3.  Minimum drive shaft diameter is 3 inches.

 REAR END:

  1.  OEM for Make / Model of car. Example: Camaro / Camaro —- Metric / Metric —– Ford / Ford.

 BRAKES:

  1.  All four corners must have working brakes.
  2.  No floating brakes.
  3.  Aftermarket brake pedals allowed.
  4.  Absolutely NO brake adjustments of any kind.
  5.  No Brake Valves or Switches.

 BATTERY:

  1.  May use 2 batteries.
  2.  If battery is located in drivers compartment it must be in an enclosed battery box and securely fastened.
  3. No bungee cords or ratchet straps. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  4.  Must power the starter and the ignition and any accessories.

 CHASSIS:

  1. OEM for Make / model / Year of the body.
  2.  WHEEL BASE:
  3.  MINIMUM WHEELBASE 100”.  
  4.  A one-inch tolerance may be allowed at the direction of the Technical Inspector for accident damage the day of race.

 STEERING:

  1.  OEM style for Make / Model.
  2.  No Rack and pinions unless OEM Equipped.
  3.  Steering quickeners allowed.

 FRONT SUSPENSION:

  1.  OEM. Right, upper A-arm and all steering linkage may be reinforced as long as their identity remain clear.
  2.  OEM style and dimension shocks allowed. NO HEIMS SHOCKS ALLOWED.
  3.  Shocks MUST use the OEM mounts and remain in their OEM location.
  4.  NO SCREW JACKS.
  5.  OEM style and dimension racing springs allowed.
  6.  Springs must remain in their stock mounts and locations. 
  7.  No driver adjustable suspension devices permitted.
  8.  UPPER AND LOWER CONTROL ARMS MOUNTS ON FRONT MUST REMAIN IN STOCK LOCATION! NO CUTTING OF CONTROL ARM MOUNTS FOR CASTER, CAMBER, ROLL STEER, ETC.

 REAR SUSPENSION:

  1.  OEM. Shocks must use the OEM mounts and remain in their OEM location.
  2. NO SCREW JACKS.
  3.  OEM style and dimension springs allowed.
  4.  Springs must remain in their stock mounts and location.
  5.  For coil spring cars you may use 5-inch springs.
  6.  Chrysler torsion bar suspension is permitted if it was stock on the year and model designated for the car.
  7.  OEM design leaf spring setups in which the springs are securely fastened to the rear end are OK.
  8.  No driver adjustable suspension devices permitted.
  9.  No “Z” links, aftermarket panhard bars, aftermarket J-bars, torque links, torque arms, damper shocks, fifth coils, ECT.
  10.  REAR CONTROL ARMS MOUNTS MUST REMAIN IN STOCK LOCATION! NO CUTTING OF MOUNTS FOR TRAIL/LEAD PURPOSES, ETC..!

 

TRACTION CONTROL:
Other than listed under REAR SUSPENSION, no other traction devices are permitted.

 BODY:

  1. OEM production body, 1960 or newer.
  2.  Complete stock body, unaltered except as stated here.
  3.  Hoods may be gutted.
  4.  Firewall must be completely stock and in the stock location.
  5.  No open holes in firewall (seal Penetrations).
  6.  Maintain the stock floor from firewall rearward to the leading edge of the trunk.
  7.  There must be a firewall between the driver’s compartment and the trunk.
  8.  NO decking allowed, must have open cockpit from firewall to rear firewall. Deck may start behind the drivers seat to enclose the fuel cell and battery. Nothing forward of the drivers seat.
  9.  All doors must be welded and / or bolted shut.
  10.  Exterior door sheet metal may be replaced with fabricated sheet metal panels.
  11.  Doors may be gutted.
  12.  Install 3 driver’s sidebars, with 1/8” steel plate covering the door bars from front to back and top to bottom welded in place on outside of bars  (Strongly Recommended).
  13.  Install a minimum of 2 right side bars.
  14.  The frame rails do not count as the door bars.
  15.  See the safety rules for other items.
  16.  Front inner panels optional.
  17.  Trunk lid may be gutted.
  18. All glass must be removed.
  19.  No mirrors.
  20.  Grill may be replaced with wire mesh.
  21.  Must have stock body lines.
  22.  Must have a metal firewall between driver and fuel cell.
  23.  No fuel line in drivers compartment unless contained in conduit / pipe.
  24.  Stop sign post material allowed between front and rear fenders on side of body to protect sheet metal and paint jobs.
  25.  Fenders may be cut for tire clearance.
  26.  Front fender well may be removed.
  27.  Rear fender wells must be sealed, homemade OK.
  28.  The rear of the car must be closed in.  
  29.  SHEET METAL BODIES ALLOWED AS LONG AS STOCK OEM FACTORY BODY LINES ARE MAINTAINED.. FENDER TRIMMING WILL BE CLOSELY WATCHED AND TECH OFFICIAL HOLDS POWER TO DETERMINE IF TRIMMING IS EXCESSIVE. IF DEEMED EXCESSIVE, FENDER WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED.
  30.  Performance body style bodies permitted.

 NOSE / GRILL:

  1.  Aftermarket plastic nose for Make / Model OK. Front grill may be removed if such nose is installed.

 FRONT BUMPER:

  1. OEM for Make / Model OK.
  2. Fabricated Late Model type front bumpers may be used if professionally built and properly installed. No sharp edges. Ends must be modified with tubing to produce a backward bend. Maximum bumper width is 60 inches. May not extend more than 3 inches outward from the attachment point of the last support / brace that attaches at a 45 to 90 degree angle. 1 upper and 1 lower bar of no more than 1 inch tubing no more than 60 inches wide may be added to the bumper to support the nosepiece. These bars may be no wider than the bumper and must have ends that curve backward and may curve upward or downward towards the bumper. Bumper ends must be smooth and rounded and stay within the bodylines.
  3.   All bumper material mounts; braces and hardware must be steel and / or aluminum.

 Hood:

  1. May have an opening for the air cleaner.
  2. The claimed engine size must be displayed on each side of the hood . Use letters at least 3 inches tall with the length proportional to the height.

 ROOF:

  1.  Stock! No spoilers or wings.
  2.  The left and right edges of the roof are to be approximately the same height from the top of the doors and quarter panels. No more than 1 inch tolerance.
  3.  The left and right side support panels for the roof must be the same design and front to back length.

 INTERIOR:

  1.  See the section on SAFETY.
  2.  No part of the seat may extend rearward past the plane generated by connecting the rear most edges of the doors.
  3.  Aftermarket GAS pedal OK. (May be relocated)
  4.  Stock brake and clutch pedals in stock location, if used. Aftermarket brake pedals allowed.
  5.  Must retain OEM window openings.

 TRUNK LID:

  1. Required. May be gutted. Must be able to be opened.

 REAR BUMPER:

  1.  Any Make / Model OEM OK.
  2. Fabricated OK if approved by Tech. Ends must be smooth.
  3.  Must be attached to the frame or roll cage in at least 4 places, 2 on each side of centerline.

 SPOILERS:

  1.  Not allowed, PERIOD. ( If your car came with one take it OFF).

 SEAT:

  1. See the section on SAFETY.

 Seat Belts:

  1.  See the section on SAFETY.

 WHEELS:

  1.  15X8 Steel wheels only.
  2.  No wide fives.
  3.  Must mount with at least 5 lug nut design.
  4.  Mud caps OK.
  5.  BEAD LOCK ALLOWED ON RIGHT REAR AND RIGHT FRONT ONLY FOR SAFTEY PURPOSES.

 TIRES:

  1.  IMCA G-60, Hoosier G-60 or 60 series D.O.T. All 4 tires must be one or the other, no mixing of G-60 or D.O.T. 
  2.  No mud grips.
  3. NO Grooving of any tires.
  4.  DOT tires cannot be wider than 60 series.
  5.  Tires may be ground or siped within confines of tread (not past factory straight line).
  6.  ABSOLUTELY NO GRACE PERIOD ON TIRES AND WHEELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7.  Call track if you have a question on if your wheels or tires are legal.

 WEIGHT:

  1.  All cars must weight 3400 pounds with driver on board.

 ENGINE CLAIM RULE:

  1.  $500. You must present the tech man with $500 cash and written claim within 15 minutes following the checkered flag of the feature event.
  2.  The claim procedure is this. If you claim, it will cost you (claimer) $500 and your motor. To claim, the person claiming must start the feature event and be in 10th place or better at the conclusion of the race AND still be competing. Can not be in 10th place sitting in the infield. Tech man will decide whether both motors are eligible for the swap under the claim guidelines.
  3.  Claim can be made by driver or owner only.
  4.  Items included in claim are the complete motor, intake to oil pan and front of block to rear of block, distributor, plug wires and spark plugs.
  5.  Items not included in claim are carburetor, headers, water pump, fuel pump, steering pump and brackets, pulleys, belts, hoses and any sending units attached.
  6.  Each car or driver/owner will only be allowed to make 2 claims per year.
  7.  Any car refusing a claim will lose all money won that night and any points accumulated up to and including that night.
  8.  Any car refusing a claim twice will not be allowed to participate in that class for the remainder of the year.
  9. Any car and driver winning their 3rd race will have their motor torn down in the tech shed that night to prove legality. If found legal, that driver will be given an additional $100 following the tear down to replace gaskets needed to rebuild their motor. If found illegal, driver will lose all money that night plus any points accumulated to that point.
