Jackson Motor Speedway in Byram, Mississippi will once again be in action this Saturday night, August 9th with a Weekly Racing Series Event.

This Saturday’s program will be highlighted by a Weekly Racing Series Event featuring the Extreme Wireless Super Late Models, The Home Improvement Company Limited Late Models, Paul’s Body Shop/HP Graphics Mini Stocks, the Touch of Class Body Shop Stingers, and the Franklin Paving UMP Open Wheel Modifieds.

Grandstand general admission for this Saturday’s event is $12 for adults, $6 for children (7-12 years of age), $6 for seniors (65 and older), and children 6 and under are free when accompanied by a paying adult. Pit admission for adults is $25, $15 for children (7-12 years of age), seniors (65 years of age and older) are $15, and children 6 and under are free when accompanied by a paying adult.

Pit gates open at 4 pm with the grandstand area opening at 5 pm. Driver’s meeting will be at 6 pm with hotlaps at 6:15 pm and heat races at 7 pm.

Jackson Motor Speedway has also announced that the Lucas Oil Late Model Series Event originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday, September 12th-13th has been cancelled. JMS was unable to secure a primary sponsor for the event, and with a total purse in excess of $70,000, track owner and promoter, Don Cliburn, felt that it was best not to have the event.

“I really hated to cancel the Lucas Oil race, but to be 100% honest, it takes a lot of things to go right to make a show like this work, and with the current state of the economy and the absence of a major sponsor for the event, I felt that it was just too much of a risk,” commented Cliburn. “However, we do plan to have a big Super Late Model special event on Saturday, September 13th, and full details should be available in the next few weeks.”

Jackson Motor Speedway is also proud to announce that on August 23rd, they will be hosting the 1st Annual Jason Robbins Memorial UMP Open Wheel Modified race. It will be a $5,004 to win/$300 to start event for the drivers in the Franklin Paving UMP Open Wheel Modifieds. There will be a $100 entry. The complete purse can be found HERE.
